02.15.10 – Who ordered the snow!?! I know I certainly did not. And with all the snow that we have gotten come cancelled Events, rescheduled meetings, and lots of lower back pain from shoveling!! Being snowed in with my Immediate Leather Family was a riot. It was a wonderful opportunity to just be ourselves, play our crazy version of Spades, and launch into an all night marathon of Risk, the board game. Of course, our version. We ate, we drank (nothing alcoholic), we laughed, we mercilessly teased each other. I couldn’t and wouldn’t ask for a better crew. Community. Family. Surround yourself with people that you care about and care about you back. To know that you are loved for who you are unconditionally is a wonderful thing. 

We’re going to jump into our Leather Time Machine and go back to the weekend of the 30^th of January. Roving Reporter Rik “Sir Hooker” Newton-Treadway – Mr. Maryland Leather 2009, was in Dallas, Texas for Mr. Texas Leather Weekend 2010, and to celebrate International Mr. Leather (IML – www.imrl.com) 2009 – Sir Jeffrey Payne’s step aside as Mr. Texas Leather 2009 (Sir Jeffrey won Mr. Dallas Eagle 2009, then Mr. Texas Leather 2009, then International Mr. Leather 2009). Sir Hooker says it was a weekend of non-stop fun, friends, and of course, Leather. Congratulations go out to Jack Duke, your Mr. Texas Leather 2010! A big thank you goes out to Sir Jeffrey Payne, for you have and continue to do for the Community!!

Here in Baltimore I attended C.O.M.M.A.N.D., M.C.’s (www.commandmc.org) bar night over at the Baltimore Eagle (www.thebaltimoreeagle.com). Now bear in mind that this is in the midst of a snow storm (I know, which one…), but the attendance was still high! Everyone had an awesome time mingling with Club Members and discussing the weather (who knew what was to come?) and enjoying the draft beer and Jell-O Shooters at the Club Bar (note to self, stay away from the vodka ones). I always have a good time at C.O.M.M.A.N.D., M.C.’s events, and tonight was no different. 

Speaking of C.O.M.M.A.N.D., M.C., their new President, David Shover, is also Mr. Club XS Leather 20009. I’m sure you recognize David from all the coverage here on the awesome job he is doing in Title. Well, February 27, at 8PM, at Club XS (www.clubxsyork.com) in York, PA will be the Mr. Club XS Leather 2010 Contest! Please join me there to see who Mr. Club XS Leather 2010 will be, but more importantly, to celebrate the awesome Title year that David has had as he steps aside as Mr. Club XS Leather 2009!!

Fast forward to Valentine’s Day Weekend where we had the BLADeaf (www.bladeaf.com) & GLAD-E 2010 Run, Miss Gay Baltimore 2010 here in Baltimore, and in Washington, DC we had Scarlett’s Bake Sale! My Leather Columnist at Arms, Rodney Burger – Maryland Mr. Drummer 2001, tells me that Scarlett’s was a huge success despite the snow, with lots of money raise for charity and wonderful cakes for auction! 

I will leave coverage of Miss Gay Baltimore 2010 to Hunter in his Column here in GayLife (www.baltimoregaylife.com), but let me just add that it is always a fun time when a Pageant happens at the Hippo (www.clubhippo.com), with Roger Dimick and Staff doing everything they can to make sure everyone enjoys themselves!

The BLADeaf / GLAD-E 2010 Run was at the Baltimore Eagle Friday night for the Meet & Greet, and at Grand Central (www.centralstationpub.com) on Saturday for the Contests and Victory Party! 

With International Mr. Deaf Leather 2009 (IDL – www.internationaldeafleather.org) – Sir Terry Morrell and International Deaf Leatherboy 2009 – boy taz serving as Judge and Judge’s boy respectively, the weekend was also attended by former International Mr. Deaf Leather’s and International Deaf Leatherboy’s, Mid-Atlantic Community Bootblack 2009 – Brandon Riley, Mr. Boston Leather 2010 – Sir Justin, and too many others to list. 

The weekend also included workshops (of which I gave one!), a delicious lunch, and 3 Titles being sashed! I had the distinct honor of being Tally, so that meant I got to tabulate the scores, and really be in the thick of things as the Judges’ handed me their scores. I am proud to present Harry “Abbe” Woosley, Jr. as your Mr. Baltimore Deaf Leather 2010, Valerie “Val” Sherrill as your Ms. Baltimore Deaf Leather 2010, and Miss Jasmine as your Miss GLAD-E 2010!! Congratulations to everyone and have an awesome Title year! A big hug and thank you to Karen Taylor – Ms. Baltimore Deaf Leather 2009, for all that you have and continue to do for the Community! BLADeaf will be 20 years old next year, so you can expect a huge extravaganza for their Run in 2011. I hope to see you all there!
