AIRS Oscar Night

By  Rose D'Longcroi

It’s that time of the year when Hollywood’s A-List stars pour their surplus income into the willing hands of designers and exclusive jewelers to dazzle the estimated 45 million world-wide viewers of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards Show, commonly referred to as the Oscars.

For those who wait for this night with breath that is baited, AIRS-- a faith-based non-profit that provides supportive assistance and housing to individuals with AIDS-- operating under their City Steps banner will hold its 10th Annual Oscar Night at the Charles Theater.

This official Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences fundraiser night comes with a $125 price tag for general admission to the movie screen viewing of the glittering stars, a variety of “A Night at the Movies” themed entertainment, dancing, and a live auction. An additional $25 will reserve your seat and allow to partake in the cocktails and elegant menu provided by the vibrant Tapas Teatro.

The proceeds of this fundraiser will fund AIRS restoration of Restoration Gardens, a 33,000 square-foot project comprising of 43 units of permanent housing with supportive services for Baltimore homeless and unstable housed youth ages 18-24.

So open your wallet to purchase tickets ahead of time from Elise Jones at 410-576-5070 x40 or online at Bhttp://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/153616 and share your enthusiasm for The King’s Speech impending sweep.
