Benefits, 80’s Nights, Drags Shows, and Earthquakes

By  Mark Hunter

HUNTER on the Prowl is here to let you know of the entertainment that Baltimore and beyond has for you! Sorry for being away for so long, but I am back!

Starting with August so far, on August 3, Miss Shawnna Alexander hosted a Benefit Show and guest “DRAG” bartenders for The Allen Center over at The Rowan Tree. Several of your drag bartenders were Markette Buffet, Victoria Blair, Anastacia Amor, and even Miss Shawnna stepped behind the bar. There was also a small drag show which included guest bartenders Aunye Diamond, E. J. Bohrer, and Carl “The Cowboy.” The Rowan Tree has been doing these benefits for The Allen Center on the first Wednesday of every month. Keep an eye on Shawnna Alexander’s Facebook page for updates on the next fundraiser! Come out and support a good cause because someday you might need a place like The Allen Center in your later years!

August 6 at The Triple L/Leon’s Lounge, Ada Buffet hosted a “Back to the 80’s” drag show featuring many performers including Marketta Buffet, Misty Barfly, Miss D’Marje, Dee Attatood, and Chez Stephan. DJ John Eaton spun the 80’s music for the evening with many great songs and some you hadn’t heard in awhile. Keep an eye on “Ada Buffet’s” and “Triple L’s” Facebook pages for all the events coming up!

August 14, (A New Bar) Club Brezzy’s along with Miss Shawnna Alexander hosted their first drag show, “Night of the Show Girls,” featuring many performers such as Miss Shawnna, Victoria Blair, Phoenix Bloomingdale, Kelly Koxx, Miss Anastasia, Arrorah Blair, Sadie Collins (amazing) along with many others! DJ Lord Byron spun the music for the evening and The Wonderful, Sexy Melissa Hefty was the main bartender for the evening!

August 19 was the Miss PW’s 2011 contest. I was not able to make it, but your NEW Miss PW’s 2011 is “Miss Ashlee Jozet Adams! Congratulations!!

August 20 was The Chesapeake Pride 2011! There were many vendors and two stages, although I only attended The Drag Stage hosted by Miss Stormy Vain. There was a huge audience with standing room only (the place is huge) who cheered the entertainers on. Miss Stormy Vain had a variety of performs such as: Miss Shawnna Alexander, Veronyka Wynters, Miss Gracie Freebush, Mr. Jay Cruz, Cha’nel Van Cartier Couture, Ada Buffet, Marketta Buffet and of course Miss Stormy Vain! This was my first time attending this event and I had a blast!

August 23 was a very eventful day for all Maryland people and up and down the east coast: the day of “I Survived the Baltimore Earthquake 2011!” I was at home with my daughter and both my grandkids and all of a sudden the house started to shake rattle and thank god did not roll. We ran out of the house with many of my neighbors in shock! It was a very scary event, especially if you have never gone through this before, which my family had not. I live in Dundalk and from what I understand the shock wave extended from the Carolina’s and all the way up the East Coast to Rhode Island and as far west as Ohio. I pray that all my readers and everyone else came out of this event safe and sound! Hugs to you all!

Please be safe while you are out and about! Until next time boys & girls, see you when Hunter is on the Prowl!
