Who Wants to Go for a Walk?
Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. One of the reasons is that we’re finally done with the humid, hazy, code-red, ozone alert days of summer. I can’t complain about this past summer; it was pleasant enough. We received a fair amount of rain and had very few unbearably hot and uncomfortable days. Of course, we do have summers in Baltimore when a Bermuda high parks itself over the region and we get extended heat spells. So after a really hot and uncomfortable summer, fall comes in as a nice surprise, a welcome change of pace.

Just Another Day at the Office
Bev strolled into the office the other day. Of course, I would have known it was Bev before she actually walked into the office. Her imminent arrival was preceded by an incoming fog wafting of cigarette smoke and cheap vodka. And don’t tell me that vodka does not have a smell. Cheap vodka most certainly does. In the Times of Idle Kings
Paolo awoke to the sound of an insistent meow in his ear. He opened up an eye to seeBJ (short for blow job), his demanding diva of a tabby cat, 3 inches from his face. BJ was annoyed and irritated, that much Paolo could tell. He immediately realized that it was not an annoyed and irritated “Get your lazy ass out of bed and feed me!” meow.
