But three years ago, Peter was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. The process went quickly. Peter has since forgotten that he married Lisa twelve years ago. But the feeling was always there, because recently he proposed again to his beloved.
Wedding
So they had a wonderful wedding that brought tears to their friends and family. Lisa, who of course still remembers everything: ‘He was always a kind, charming and caring guy. It broke my heart when he suddenly forgot everything. Including our relationship. Then he was talking to me like I was a stranger, instead of his wife.”
One evening watching TV turned into a new show. Lisa: “I cried for a series and it comforts me. Then suddenly he asked: “Are we getting married?” I called my kids and they thought it was a great idea.”

With the help of friends, family, and wedding planners who offered their services for free, they had their second wedding. Lisa: “Our past is gone. But now we are making new memories. I feel like the happiest woman in the world.”
