Aalten – In association with the Royal Netherlands Cycling Union (KNWU) and Sportpark Zuid in Aalten, Boost Pump Tracks is organizing the official Dutch Pumptrack Open on Sunday 31 October. Participants can register in advance, but same-day registration is also possible.
Divided into ten categories, boys and girls, men and women of all age groups, from home and abroad, can participate in the Dutch Pumptrack Open. There is a maximum of 32 participants per category. If there are fewer than four passengers per class, the classes will be combined. After registration, which begins at 9:00 a.m., the qualifying rounds will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by the final round at 3:00 p.m. “We are expecting around 250 participants so it will be a great event,” organizer Jon Tessen looks forward to the future.
Pumptrack is gaining popularity with young participants especially. The pump path is a continuous circuit with bumps and bends that follow each other rhythmically. It is a cross between a BMX track and a skate park. This makes the pumptrack suitable for cross bikes, mountain bikes, stunt scooters, balance bikes, inline skates, longboards and snowboards. So basically for all the sports of cycling and skateboarding. Using your own weight at the right time will help you move along the path. Many adults and children quickly master this sport.
