The new report reveals massive demand for managed services, with global MSP services revenue expected to increase by a third from 2021 to 2022. Barracuda surveyed 500 decision-makers and knowledge staff from managed service providers (MSPs) in North America, EMEA. And ANZ (Australia and New Zealand), with 5 to 250 employees. The answers show that different regions have similar opportunities and challenges when it comes to customer service and expectations.
“The themes in this year’s report are in line with what we’ve heard from our Partner Advisory Group,” said Alain Luxemburg, Regional Director for Penelox in Barracuda. “We know MSPs want strong relationships with partners that help them provide better managed security services to their clients, while allowing them to focus more on the well-being of their own employees.”
Some findings of the report:
- Revenue growth of managed services in 2022 – MSPs expect revenue to increase by more than a third by 2022, with average revenue of $ 12.12 million this year, compared to $ 8.93 million in 2021. And while managed services are not the only source of revenue for many respondents, there is growth in services. . By 2021, 53% of respondents’ revenue came from services, which is expected to increase to 63% by 2022. In 2021, the range of services increased by an average of four services; By 2022, 94% of respondents expect their service portfolio to grow by an average of six services.
- Fatigue is a growing problem among employees and the fear of cyber attacks is growing – For MSPs to be successful, they need to be more concerned with employee welfare. One in five (16%) average worker says they have high stress and 56% say their stress levels are ‘moderate’. Moreover, 80% believe that their customers are increasingly concerned about being attacked by cybercriminals and seeking help to protect themselves from it and putting more pressure on MSPs.
- Rising regulatory and compliance concerns – In addition, cyber security regulations are constantly evolving. Only 36% of respondents believed they were fully updated and compliant with these terms. Another 36% believe that there are too many cybersecurity regulations for businesses to comply with. Surprisingly, 89% believe their companies need more support and education about these terms. Failure to address these issues will ultimately affect both employee performance and customer service.
- Almost all respondents need additional support from suppliers – 98% of those surveyed said there was an area that needed additional supplier support. Examples include response planning for safety incidents (44%), assistance for hybrid work best practices (50%) and marketing support (44%).
“Annual MSP Day and Report is important to understand the concerns and aspirations of our partners,” said Jason Howells, VP International Sales, Barracuda MSP. “One of the most important things we can do for our channel partners is to keep asking the right questions so they know what our help is.
