In “Top apps”, you can find a new selection of interesting types of apps every week. This time we have an app for organizing sports services and another that helps people with visual impairments.
Flux (experimental) (early access)
As you can read, the new Flux weather forecast app is still in the testing phase, but you can actually install it from the Play Store. The app also gives you a lot of good reasons to install, mainly due to the good design. Flux looks very new with beautiful illustrations and very clear app. In addition, there is the weather chat in which you read the overview of the day, but you can also refer to the changes in the hour. The app also displays information about the wind that day and there is an easy-to-use tool that you can add to the home screen.
Now that the sun’s rays have settled back on our country, we are already dreaming of barbecue loudly. SloGrill Lite is the ultimate app for barbecue fans, helping you take your cooking skills to the next level. You can take notes while cooking and save your results after each next cooking session. You also score your performance and keep it on record. The app also connects to different types of smart barbecue thermometers, so you can see temperature fluctuations during the cooking session in a graph. Plus, the app works with the Wear OS, so you can set timers and receive notifications when food needs to be flipped. SloGrill Lite comes from a developer Domotics-Implementation.
There are about 300,000 Dutch people with a visual impairment and 80,000 blind. Appt shows you what an app experience looks like with a screen reader like Google TalkBack. You’ll learn about accessibility options and there’s also a knowledge base with news articles that teach developers how to improve apps for people with visual impairments. In this way, Appt Foundation hopes to convince more developers to provide accessible apps.
It can be a task to properly coordinate communication within a sports team, and Teamy can help with that. You can track which team members were present for each activity and members can send an absence notification. You can also communicate with each other via the app and the team manager can plan activities. You can also download activities from different sports associations and add the maximum number of participants. Moreover, the app allows team managers to set up tasks for members and everyone can link the app program to the current calendar.
