Red Bull Racing has proven to be unstoppable in Formula 1 for the 2023 season. The team is in control of both championships after five races. This team is at the top in almost every statistic.
Max Verstappen has won three races so far in 2023, while teammate Sergio Perez has won two. The pair finished P1 and P2 in four of the five races, apart from the race in Australia. However, it had to start from the Mexican P20. Verstappen and Perez are currently fighting for the title in the drivers’ championship, while Red Bull have no challenger among constructors. Aston Martin, Ferrari and Mercedes are essentially now forced to fight for P2 and are already more than 100 points behind Red Bull.

A strange statistic
After five races, it can also be said that mainly the Red Bull drivers know what it will be like to drive P1 in 2023. 257 out of 273 laps this season, the RB19 drove in P1 in the first five races. It is 94%. Mercedes is second in this statistic, first during eleven rounds of racing (especially in Australia), accounting for 4% of the total. Aston Martin and Ferrari were the other teams to drive in P1 during the race. Aston Martin came in three rounds (1%), Ferrari two rounds (0.7%). However, this is mainly after the pit stops by the Red Bull drivers, before going to their own stop. This is a statistic that clearly shows how dominant Red Bull is so far in 2023.
