Botic van de Zandschulp and Robin Haase have advanced to the semi-finals of the doubles event on clay in Rome. They were too strong for Scotland’s Jamie Murray and Michael Venus of New Zealand in three sets 3-6, 7-6 (3), 10-6.
Van de Sandschulp and Haas could meet Wesley Koolhoff and his British partner Neil Skupski in the semi-finals. The pair will face Australians Jason Kubler and Alex de Minaur in the quarter-finals.
Van de Santsulp lost in the second round of the singles in Rome last Friday. He lost against Laszlo Djer of Serbia in two sets: 6-2, 6-4.
Among the women, Demi Schurz and her American partner Desiree Krawczyk qualified for the doubles semifinals. They beat Norwegian Ulrike Eigeri and Japan’s Miu Kato in Rome: 6-3, 6-3.
