Brackmann wins third Dutch junior weightlifting title in a row

POWERLIFTEN Emmen’s Janneke Brauckman (23) has become a Dutch Young Champion in powerlifting for the third time in her career. She weighed a total of 407.5kg on all three parts: the squat, the deadlift and the bench press.

“I am very satisfied. I immediately qualified for the world championships. So I had to reach at least 400 kilograms and that was more than a success,” Brachman replies afterwards.

“Plus, in the bench press I improved my best from 105kg to 107.5kg. Because I was so ahead of the competition, I could risk the deadlift and tried 175kg. But that was too much. Heavy now” .

But the 165 kilograms, which she had already lifted in the deadlift, was also more than enough for the overall victory. On a squat, Brackman reached 135 kilograms.

In front of the strength of Emmen now until the end of August to prepare for the world championships in Ecuador. This is her last major competition in the junior category.

Unlike last year, when she became the Dutch champion in the weight category up to 57 kilograms, today she takes the title in the class up to 63 kilograms in Wirt. She also won her first Dutch title in the -63K class.

The silver medal was won by Astrid Hitzma with 360 kg and the bronze by Whitney Ned with 352.5 kg.
