Canceled again at Orange Women: Striker Snoijs out with injury | Football

The Orange girls had another player out on Sunday. Following the example of Vivianne Miedema (illness) and Lineth Beerenstein (personal circumstances), striker Katja Snoeijs is out injured.

The KNVB did not say what kind of injury Snoeijs suffered. The Everton attacker flew out last week when Maitema withdrew from the Orange due to fever. National coach Andries Jonker was not called as a replacement for Snoejs.

As a result, the Netherlands prepares with 24 players for Tuesday’s exhibition game against Norway (kick-off 8:00pm). Initially, Jonger’s team was scheduled to train against Zambia on Thursday, but the match in Breda was canceled after the Zambian team could not obtain a visa.

For that reason, the Orange team played a practice match against ADO Den Haag and Feyenoord Women on Friday. The fights are part of the build-up to next year’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The Netherlands qualified for the tournament with a 1-0 win over Iceland in a decisive qualifier last month.

In addition to Miedema and Beerenstein, Lieke Martens, Dominique Janssen, Stefanie van der Gragt and Shanice van de Sanden are missing from the Orange squad. Martens, Janssen and van der Gracht retire from Jonker, while van de Santen is injured.
