LOCHEM – Chris Dean (55), most recently CEO of ForFarmers, is leaving Lochem. It was recently announced that he will be away for a long time due to ill health. Dean has now decided to step down from his position so that he can fully focus on his recovery.

Jan van Nieuwenhuizen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board: “We thank Chris for his efforts. We regret but respect his decision and wish him a speedy recovery.

The Board of Supervisors is now beginning the process leading to Chris Dean’s successor. Until a new CEO is appointed, Roland Djebs (CFO) and Peter Volswinkel (COO) will assume the duties and responsibilities of the CEO. They’ve been doing it since Dean got sick.

The CEO officially took over from Yoram Noob on July 1 this year. He previously led the well-known potato processor Avico in Stenderen. The Dean must finalize and implement a new strategy already in development. When he fell ill, it was clearly announced that a revised strategy would be presented on November 17, albeit without a CEO.

Summary

According to insiders, something needs to be done quickly as profits are shrinking sharply due to high energy and raw material costs and contraction in the agricultural sector. Yoram Noob has already announced plans to expand into the domestic markets of the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Poland and the United Kingdom within 5 years. The story says it’s currently focusing more on existing housing markets.

A new CEO will become the primary ‘enabler’ when the new strategy is announced and approved by the company’s various bodies next month.
