In Rampervilliers, France, the naked body of a 5-year-old girl was found in a garbage bag in an apartment on Tuesday afternoon. According to local media, the police arrested a 15-year-old boy. He will be known to the police and suffer from mental disorders.
According to Agence France-Presse of Romanian origin, the girl’s parents reported their daughter’s disappearance to the police early this afternoon. So says Jean-Pierre Michel, mayor of the Vosges, which has a population of five thousand.
“The little girl was found dead in an apartment,” he told the news agency. According to him, the police officers were the first to arrive at the house on Rue de Parmeulin, about 100 meters from her parents’ house. Then paramedics arrived and tried to resuscitate the girl. But their help came too late.
According to the mayor, the arrested youth is “15 or 16 years old” and “known to the police for acts of sexual assault”. Michel also says that the boy was placed in a psychiatric clinic and that he returned to Rampervillers for several weeks, “which made the police, who were attentive, a little worried”.
Roaming on a bike
Local media reported that the boy was 15 years old and that his mother rented the apartment where the girl was found. He was arrested at home after he called the police himself. The mayor of Rampervillers told various media that the boy initially tried to put the police in the wrong lane.
In recent days, the teenager has been seen several times, according to local media, because he was riding around the village on his bike. According to eyewitnesses from the area, the young man asked several girls to come to his apartment, where he was going to give them a cat.
According to France Bleu radio station, the public prosecutor in nearby Epinal will hold a press conference on Wednesday morning.
