How did you deal with road races at the time?
Via Star Days at Zandvoort 1976.
With which driver did you fight your best battles in the ring?
Teammate John Refers and Wim Theunissen (GT Corner) and one Kevin Schwantz in the 1986 season during the 500cc race on the Spa-Francorchamps (wet race).
Best motorcycle I’ve ever had and why?
Honda RS 500 GP engine, nothing to compare!
What is your favorite path you have taken and why?
Spa-Francorchamps is beautiful, fast and has achieved good results as 8th place 500cc GP.
What is the most outlandish and fun thing you have tried while racing?
I’m in the lead in the F750 World Cup race in Portugal and the pit crew didn’t see me.
What’s the best thing about racing?
Lots of great memories and connections.
What did you do after your active road racing career?
Started own engine company / exhaust specialist.
Are you still playing sports in some way?
I still ride Trackdays with Timo (my son) and some friends.
What is the current driver you respect so much and why?
Marc Marquez, always good in all conditions. However, it is going get.
Who do you see as the greatest (currently active) road racing talent in the Netherlands and why?
Zonta vd Goorbergh comes from a good racing test.
How do you view the current race with your experience at the national and international levels?
National Entertainment ………. then they split into a billion-dollar company called MotoGP.
