Fatalities and injuries in a shooting in Louisville | outside

Local police received a report of an armed person at the Old National Bank downtown, which has a population of about 625,000, around 8:30 am (local time). The historic 1837 building is located on the 300 block of East Main Street. The building no longer functions as a bank but belongs to the theatre.

The first officers reached the bank a few minutes later. An exchange of fire with a gunman also took place. An officer was wounded. According to the local police chief, Paul Hambry, the shooter has been “neutralised”. He is among the dead. The identity of the perpetrator or his motives have not yet been revealed.

The FBI also reported the shooting and sent agents. All the injured were taken to a nearby hospital. The police cordoned off the area. The five dead are found in the building.

Andy Beshear, the Democratic governor of Kentucky, is on his way to the southeastern city. Please pray for all the affected families and for the city of Louisville. US President Joe Biden has been informed of the shooting.
