Football player Viktoria Belova has won her first trophy with Arsenal. The Orange-International won the League Cup after beating Chelsea 3-1 in the final at Selhurst Park in London. That stage was already halfway reached.
Belova, who moved from Ajax to Arsenal in early January, came on after almost an hour of play. She was able to celebrate with her new teammates for over half an hour. Arsenal won the League Cup for the sixth time, making them the most successful club in the English Cup competition.
Injured Vivian Mitema also later took part in a lap of honor on the field. Arsenal and Orange’s top scorer is recovering from a knee injury but came to inspire his team-mates in the cup final.
On Instagram, he was the first to share an image created by Arsenal with photos of all the players who contributed to winning the League Cup, including Miedema. He later posted a picture of his left leg on the treatment table. “Priorities”, Miedema added. The striker will miss next summer’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
In the English women’s league, Super League, Arsenal are fourth behind Manchester United, Manchester City and defending champions Chelsea.
