Fujifilm Introduces Thermoforming Ink Uvijet HZ for Acuity Prime – Graphic News

Fujifilm announces UV LED Uvijet HZ, an ink for thermoforming applications that can be used with Acuity Prime flatbed printers.

Uvijet HZ thermoforming inks are developed and tested by Fujifilm at its Broadstairs ink manufacturing facility in the UK. According to Matthew Whiting, product manager for Fujifilm Wide Format Inkjet Systems, those inks maximize the capabilities of Fujifilm’s presses, namely Acuity Prime.

Standard colors

According to the manufacturer, Uvijet HZ ink guarantees “excellent dot rendering, exceptional adhesion and stretchable stable colors and excellent quality for applications such as thermoforming, line bending and dome blowing”. Matthew Whiting explains: “Thermoforming ink must prevent cracking and flaking. Our Uvijet HZ inks are highly flexible and retain their high quality throughout the thermoforming process to deliver a beautiful finish.”

Less environmental impact

Uvijet HZ inks are also suitable for applications requiring bending, beating, grinding and cutting. The inks are suitable for indoor and outdoor applications and are suitable for applications where they take their final form at temperatures between 150 and 200 °C. They do not contain volatile solvents and hydrocarbons, so their impact on the environment is less than that of solvent-based products.
