Guided tours of wind farm construction sites – Flevopost

On Friday January 20, sustainable energy company Pure Energie will offer two guided tours of the construction site of the Hoge Vaart Zuid, Hondtocht Zuid, Oldebroekertocht and Flevo Ventum wind farms. These wind farms are part of the Windplan Groen and are being built on the outskirts of Dronten municipality.

During the tour, parts of windmills such as mast parts and blades are on the ground. So visitors can see these large components up close. The number of available places is limited, therefore advance registration is required. The first round starts at 9:00 am and the second round starts at 1:30 pm. Anyone visiting for the open day is asked to come by bike if possible. Parking space is limited.

During the first round, participants are required to be present at JandLis Meat at Hondweg 16 in Dronten (Renken family) no later than 9:00 am. After a short introduction, they took a bus, after which they arrived at a construction site of one of the windmills around 9:30 am after a short drive. There, until 10:30 in the morning, they will receive an explanation about the construction of windmills and the windmills themselves, and of course there will be room for questions. At 10.45am the bus takes the participants back to JandLis Meat. There is space for coffee, tea and more conversations.

For the second round, participants are required to show up at JandLis Meat at Hondweg 16 in Dronten (Renken family) no later than 1.30pm. After a short introduction, they took a bus, after which they arrived at a windmill construction site around 2 p.m. After a short drive. There they will receive an explanation of the construction of windmills and the windmills themselves until 3 pm, and of course there will be room for questions. At 3:15 p.m., the bus takes them back to JandLis Meat. There is space for coffee, tea and more conversations.

At your own risk

Tour participants enter the construction site at their own risk. Parts of windmills may not be touched or stepped on. The advice is to wear sturdy shoes and clothing, as the participants are on a construction site and the weather can be bad. Participants are provided with a helmet and safety vest which they must wear during the tour of the construction site. Photographs are taken that Pure Energy can use for communications. The sustainable energy company Pure Energie is building four wind farms in the municipality of Dronten: Hoge Vaart Zuid (ten windmills), Hondtocht Zuid (five windmills), Oldebroekertocht (five windmills) and Flevo Ventum (five windmills). Pure Energie is the owner of the first three wind farms, Flevo Ventum BV is the owner of Windpark Flevo Ventum. These four wind farms are part of the larger farms green windplan .

All wind turbines in the four wind farms will be of the Vestas brand and of the V162 type. It has an axle height of 166 metres, a rotor diameter of 162 metres, and tip height—the highest point when the blade is upright—247 metres.

These modern wind turbines generate approximately 21 million kilowatt-hours each year. Therefore, the twenty-five wind turbines of these four wind farms together are expected to generate approximately 525 million kWh per year. This is more than twice the amount of electricity used annually in the entire municipality of Dronten.
