Molenlanden: Construction workers clean up your workshop before the end of the year | Riverland

Molenlanden is calling on contractors to remove bulk materials, toilet cabins and chain breakers from work and construction sites by the end of the year. The municipality advises that as many vulnerable items as possible be removed from public spaces.

The municipality also requires that construction sites be closed with fences to prevent the demolition of objects. For example, the municipality, which removes all waste bins itself, wants to prevent vandals from causing a high bill again. Over the end of last year, more than 19,000 euros were caused in damages.

“We urge our residents not to leave vandal-sensitive items outside to prevent damage,” a company spokesperson said. Based on experience and indications, the municipality has a number of areas of focus that it is watching closely. “These hotspots are empty buildings or sites where groups have met on a small scale in previous years.”

Heavy fireworks

On January 1, Mayor Theo Segers made an impassioned plea to his residents on his Facebook page: “Please” Stop the fireworks. “Much of the destruction of traffic signs and bus shelters, among other things, is caused by the use of heavy pyrotechnics. Every year again a great amount of damage for which we unfortunately cannot recover many of the perpetrators. I am very disturbed by this. Please stop doing that!
