New Sony mini earplugs last six hours on a battery charge | right Now

Sony has announced the LinkBuds S. The wireless earbuds are quite small, just like the LinkBuds that came out earlier this year. It lasts a little longer when the battery is charged: six hours.

This saved them half an hour longer than their predecessors, which lasted 5.5 hours on a charge. The earplugs come in a box in which the listening time can be extended by fourteen hours. According to Sony, five minutes of charging provides enough capacity for an hour of listening.

Earplugs can filter noise from the environment with noise cancellation. Sony has fitted the LinkBuds S with adaptive sound control, with which noise reduction recognizes different situations and adjusts the operation accordingly. At the airport, for example, noise is filtered out, but messaging is allowed, Sony says.

Remarkably, the LinkBuds S each weigh 4.8 grams. This is lighter than popular competitors like AirPods Pro (5.4 grams) and Galaxy Buds Live (5.6 grams). By the way, the previous LinkBuds were lighter, that is, 4 grams each.

Sony LinkBuds S will launch in the Netherlands at the end of May and cost €200. Previously published LinkBuds are also on sale for 180 euros.
