Dartvereniging Urk sees the dream come true. There has been talk of a new club since 2017, but now construction is finally underway at Staartweg in the village.

Darts would like to move to the new location in the spring of 2023. A new dart center is being built between the sports hall De Schelp and Staartweg. According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors Martin Mion, this will be the most beautiful and largest darts center in our country. “As far as we know, that’s nowhere in the Netherlands,” says Myon proudly.

The building with 25 darts and space for 150 people will be located opposite the shooting club near De Schelp Sports Hall. According to Meun, the final special track is the icing on the cake where major matches can be played in the future.

In the world of darts, the best darts players also react favorably to Urk’s plans. For example, professional darts player Co Stompe says: “There are centers with twenty positions, but it doesn’t look as great as this one.” World champion Dirk van Duijvenbode says those plans can be realized given Urk has a strong associative life.
