De Cirkel Primary School on Saturday 15th April 2023 in Julianadorp competed with the Netherlands Cub School drafts team in the semi-finals. A coveted spot in the National School final draft was at stake. The aim was to secure a place among the top five schools that would qualify them for a place in the final.

The cub team (Group 6 and 4) from De Cirkel Primary School from the Middenhoven district consisted of Sho, Koh, Chase, Joaquin, Dax and Crystal. For weeks additional rehearsals were made for this match, ten rounds being played, each time a four-on-four match. The constituency team lost twice, drew twice and managed to win at least six times. Noteworthy is the 4-4 draw against current Dutch champions De Brunn from Molinersgrave. A sign that De Cirkel can once again measure himself against the best players in the Netherlands. He scored an excellent third place in the semi-finals, thus qualifying the team for the Dutch final on Saturday 13 May in Roewijk. The last time this worked was the top 2019 season in which De Cirkel finally finished third in the World School Drafts Championships in Italy.
