Space will be held in permits in Súdwest-Fryslân

The municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân will rewrite the new “Outside area Súdwest-Fryslân” zoning plan so that the space included in existing permits can still be used for dairy farms in the future. This is the result of consultations between LTO Noord and the municipality earlier this week.

The municipality of Sudwest-Frieslan is in the process of amending its current zoning plan in the run-up to the new environmental law, which is due to enter into force next year. In the text of the initial zoning plan “Outside area Súdwest-Fryslân”, the current use and the space that often still exists between licensed cows and the actual number of cows are not specified.

According to Chairman Jan Jurjen Leyenaar of LTO North Sneek/Wymbritseradeel, this did not do justice to the actual situation on the farms. ‘Súdwest-Fryslân is a practical-minded municipality sympathetic to agriculture. However, the zoning plan must be supported by the State Council.

Frieslin County has suspended permitting until further notice, because stable innovations do not hold up to the State Council.
