Sports Director Neerman: “Rocklik is not the most favorite of the time trials”

While the time trial is scheduled in Paris-Nice, Jumbo-Wisma looks forward to Tuesday. Leader and time-tested expert Primos Rocklick is the first major clash against his rivals. Sports director Kris Nierman raises expectations. “Primo has a good time test on his feet, but of course it’s not so much a favorite for day success,” he says.
Rocklick did not escape from the arena on Monday. The Slovenian champion crossed the finish line in 37th place on a stage that won like cheese. “It was a tense situation and the last fifty kilometers were very dangerous in some places. There was not enough air to pull it ashore properly. Fortunately, we came on stage with the Primos,” Nirman said.
There was a moment of shock when George Bennett fell. The New Zealand champion was able to continue with a new helmet, eventually finishing 80th at the end of the day. Still, Bennett will investigate how Jumbo-Wisma reacted after being hit in the head. “George’s accident was a disappointment, but we’ll see how he is,” team management said.
