The records are about to be broken. 16-year-old skier Valentino Cuselli had the idea for a while and now he really wins. On March 31, 2021, he jumped at least 7.3 meters in the semifinals on the LAAX. The Australian has thus broken the old record of American snowboard legend Shawn White.
World record high in half pipe
Since January 30, 2010, Shawn White holds the world record for most halves (air). He achieved this feat during the Winter X Games 14 in Aspen, Colorado (USA). For more than 11 years, it has been time for a new name. Australian skier Valentino Kuceli breaks 7-meter (23 ft) old record At age 16, he jumped 7 meters and 30 centimeters (24 feet).
Dream
Valentino has been training for the entire winter at the Swiss ski resort of Films – Lox – Flora. In Australia, winter is the direct opposite of the Alps, this way he can stand on his team all year round. He made his World Cup debut in early January. Here the 16-year-old eventually finished eighth.
In the video below, Kuceli claims to have been busy breaking the world record for some time. “I wanted to get as high as I could. The conditions are perfect these days.” As you can see from the pictures, his dream has come true. This achievement earns him a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
