After, among others, the Roze Règâhs Supporters Association of ADO Den Haag and the Pink Comrades of Feyenoord, there will be a National Association of Pink Supporters.

The initiators of the Pink Supporters, as the association would be called, are football fans from various Dutch professional football clubs. They met during the production of KRO-NCRV’s documentary series “The Pink Supporters”, which aired in May 2022. The series follows several LGBTIQ+ soccer fans who have attempted to ban discrimination on soccer fields.

It is still difficult to combine football with sexual and gender diversity. Discriminatory chants and insults can be heard regularly in Dutch football stands. A group of supporters of eight professional football clubs want to change that with a new Pink Fans’ Association. They want to make it so visible that there is a very large group of LGBTIQ+ football fans in the Netherlands who want to safely enjoy a match.

Olympic stadium

The new fan club will be officially established on Saturday 13 May at a meeting at the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam. Clubs and supporters can contact Pink Supporters for advice and information. In addition, the association wants to become a permanent discussion partner of the KNVB and other national organizations.
