BBack to the future It is definitely one of the most iconic movies of the 80’s and the entire history of the movie. After all, who hasn’t watched Marty McFly travel back to the 1950s, meet his parents and take them back together? Marty did it all with the help of his friend Doc Brown’s DeLorean time machine, making the car also iconic. And one of those cars is now under the hammer.
The DeLorean DMC-12 is a private car. This car didn’t just appear in all three Back to the future –Movies, but the car is all private. The DMC-12 was designed by Giorgetto Guigiaro, but was taken over by Lotus Chief Colin Chapman. Although Chapman made production models of it, the DeLorean DMC-12 is actually still little more than a very limited release model. Only 9,000 copies were made.
The car’s design is still distinct. The doors with seagull wings and the stainless steel look are characteristic of the DMC-12, also because it is the only vehicle to have these elements. So whether you think the car is beautiful or ugly, it definitely stands out.
DeLorean who is now under the hammer in a special case. The current owner bought it after two years of searching in 2012. The car at the time was as good as new tires, even the original tires were still running. The current owner brought the car from the UK to the Netherlands, where it drove another 6,500 km. But the adjustments weren’t necessary: everything is still original, right down to the working radio tape. However, it was time to give her up and find a new owner for her.
Anyone interested can bid on Site Fan CollectiblesThe car is sold by public auction. There you can bid on the car for three weeks, but you can also request additional information and even make an appointment for a preview or inspection.
