This house with a pool and a cinema is not the house he would grow up in

You buy a house and know: I want to live here for the rest of my life. Ad and his wife thought the same thing when they bought a Heimolendreef 31 in Rucphen. Yet they are moving forward after a year and a half. “We came across something different, and it’s even more beautiful.” A new story in the Omroep Brabant series of private homes.

In the search for the perfect home, Ad and his wife ended up in Heimolendreef 1.5 years ago. “It’s actually a perfect place. The house is at a standstill. You hear absolutely nothing and you just sit comfortably afterwards.”

But there was more to the calm that surrounded the house. “It really is the whole picture. What impressed us immediately was there was a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. We are already a bit older. The intention was actually to get old here.”

In other homes in this series, I’ve also seen people expect to stay there forever. They destroyed the entire house and remodeled it to their liking. Fortunately, this was not the case with Ad. “We did the painting, but we didn’t do any major renovations. We got a lot of work done on the pool by installing an automated cleaning system.”

This pool was also one of the reasons they bought the house 1.5 years ago. “We both like to swim a lot. We often went to the pool. When we went looking for a house, we wanted a pool.”

Perhaps the home cinema is what really attracts the attention of the home. This is used regularly on football evenings. His colleagues and friends also know how to use it. “They come regularly to watch an evening.”

There’s also room in the house for another hobby for Ad. “I really like billiards. So the intention was that we spend a lot of time in the space. I’ve never sat there, because I’m so busy,” Ad says with a smile in his voice.

Ad and his wife spend most of their time downstairs. “We also have four bedrooms upstairs. We don’t actually get there. The cleaning lady cleans a room there every week. There might be more of us.”

Its own cinema, billiards room with faucet, swimming pool and an entire upper floor where you can still do everything. “However we’re leaving. Through an acquaintance, we were only able to buy a much nicer property,” laughs Ad. Perhaps this is where they really grow up.
