You might have recently switched from WhatsApp to Telegram, or maybe you are playing with the idea of making the switch. If losing chat history is holding you back, Telegram now has a solution for that. With just two steps, you can directly import call data from WhatsApp to Telegram.
WhatsApp to Telegram
Following the new terms of use The WhatsApp People have turned ‘en masse’ to other chat services like Telegram and Signal, although a significant portion will also remain with WhatsApp, as recently featured from our site. AW poll. One of the disadvantages of switching chat services is that the chats cannot be transferred yet – cable However, it has found a solution for this and has now rolled it out on both Android and iOS.
On the one hand, this relates to personal chats that can be transferred to Telegram, but on the other hand, it is also possible to transfer group conversations. For Telegram, this mess in WhatsApp definitely didn’t cause any harm – in January the service managed to win over 100 million new users. It is not known to what extent these users are also active on the platform on a daily basis and whether they also use (a lot) from WhatsApp.
With th Import the most important conversations Telegram has become an important competitor to Signal: a chat app that has also become hugely popular due to the WhatsApp crisis, but it still lacks many functions in practice. The only drawback of the “new” apps, of course, is that not all friends and acquaintances will leave the chat environment they are familiar with, which means that the emergence of Telegram and Signal could be short-lived. Even if you can import conversations, if the contact is not on Signal, it will not be of use to you.

Before performing the steps below, make sure your contact is active on Telegram. If he does not have a Telegram account, it is not possible to transfer data from WhatsApp to Telegram. As for group chats, it also applies that a group chat must be previously created on Telegram, after which the conversations can be transferred. Below I will separately describe the two types of conversation:
Step-by-step plan for personal conversations:
- Open WhatsApp and click on the desired chat conversation
- Click the three dots, select “More” and “Export Chat”
- Decide if you want to export files, images, and videos
- Select Telegram from the Share with menu
- Select the desired chat in Telegram
Step-by-step plan for group discussions:
- Make sure you have a (blank) group chat in Telegram
- Open WhatsApp and select the desired conversation
- Click the three dots, select “More” and “Export Chat”
- Decide if you want to export files, images, and videos
- Select Telegram from the Share with menu
- Select the desired group chat in Telegram
Chats are preserved
After performing the above steps, the call data – including photos, videos, and other files, if any – was transferred to Telegram. You will have to do this in every conversation every time: it is not possible to transfer all WhatsApp conversations at once. Please note that others can delete all chat data on Telegram: so be aware that chat data on Telegram may be lost.
Conversations also remain in WhatsApp – if you keep this app on your phone, the conversations will of course be saved as they were before the transfer. Are you planning to export call data from WhatsApp to Telegram? Or would you rather continue to WhatsApp? Let us know in the comments at the bottom of the article.
