About 50 percent of adults with SDB show symptoms of insomnia.

Other benefits of a good night’s sleep

Adults with diabetes who get seven to eight hours of exercise a day have a much lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Sleep quality also has an impact on the immune system. Good sleep reduces the risk of infection.

Apart from physical ailments, sleep also takes its toll on mental health. When one consistently gets a good night’s sleep, one is less likely to develop depression, anxiety, and difficulty concentrating than if one has poor sleep quality.
