According to Edwin Crulan, Ombudsman FaithNewspaper coverage was incomplete.
In fact, one elementary school parent has objected to several books, including Amanda Gorman’s. That objection was discussed during a meeting at the school, but the minutes of that meeting concluded that the book had sufficient educational value and was considered suitable for an older group of students: ten to fourteen years of age. This implies a limitation: poetry is no longer available to students under the age of ten.
Earlier in the news everywhere, the Umbrella School Board announced that the book was not banned in schools.
