Van de Zandscholp beats Ruud to reach the fourth round in Miami

Tennis player Butch van de Zandscholpe reached the fourth round at the Masters in Miami by defeating world number 4 Casper Ruud. The Dutchman beat the 24-year-old Norwegian in three sets: 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. The party lasted about three hours. Van de Zandschol will now compete with Finland’s Emil Russofori for a place in the quarter-finals in Florida.

The 27-year-old Finendaller, No. 32 in the world, is 26th in his second consecutive Masters tournament in the United States. In Indian Wells, Van de Zandsholb had to surrender in the second round earlier this month due to an ankle injury.

With Rudd meeting the world number 4 in Miami on Sunday, he is having a mediocre season. Rudd has not been able to win back-to-back matches this year in any tournament and has also failed to do so in Florida. Van de Zandschulp has now won three of the four duels with the Norwegian. Only at the Masters in Rome was Ruud so strong last year.

In front of Rossofori, a 23-year-old Finn, van de Zandsholb balanced. He lost to Russofori on the grass in Rosmalen last year, but then defeated the current world number 54 at Wimbledon.
