The Netherlands sprinters won the gold medal at the Nations Cup Track Cycling in Cairo, Egypt. Yori Havik won the silver medal in the men’s elimination race.
The Netherlands was the fastest in qualifying. At that time there was already a difference of half a second with the number two. Poland were defeated in the first round, after which Roy van den Berg, Harry Lauriesen and Geoffrey Hoogland dealt with France in the final. TeamNL won by more than 1.2 seconds.

In the final part of the evening in Cairo, in the elimination race, Yori Havik won the silver medal on behalf of the commercial team of Beat Cycling. In the final he had to acknowledge his superior in the Brit William Tidball. Yanne Dorenbos was also present for the medals on behalf of the KNWU selection. He finished fourth.
Marit Raigemakers finished fifth in the women’s elimination race. Also, medals were awarded to the team country. Denmark got the better of France in the men’s event, while France were faster than New Zealand in the women’s event.
