Where will the European Championships 2028 and European Championships 2032 be held? These are the countries that apply | foreign football

The European Football Championship 2028 will be held in the United Kingdom or Türkiye. UEFA did not receive further registrations to stage the event. The deadline was on Wednesday.

The United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) applied jointly with Ireland. If the British bid wins, matches will be played at Wembley, Hampden Park, Principality Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Etihad Stadium, St James’ Park, Villa Park, Hampden Park, Aviva, Casement Park and the new yet to be built Everton Stadium.

England previously hosted the 1966 World Cup and the 1996 European Championship. The 2020 European Championship, which was held across Europe due to UEFA’s 60th anniversary, included the semi-finals and final at Wembley, although the United Kingdom itself had left the European Union by then. The European Women’s Football Championship was also held in England last year.

Turkey participated in both the 2028 and 2032 European Championships. If the organization moves to the UK in 2028, Turkey will only have competition from Italy for the 2032 European Championships, as it became clear on Wednesday.

In October this year, the UEFA Executive Committee will commission the organization of the two European finals. The 2024 European Championship will be held in Germany.
