NK Taming in Ermelo
Ermelo – From May 5-8, the Dutch Dressage Championship will be held at the National Equestrian Center in Ermelo. Besides the six Dutch Championships, the KNHS Championship and the Pony Watch, there is plenty to experience during this edition.
For example, the Dressage World Championships will be chosen on Wednesday and there will also be a battle for a place in the final in the preliminary rounds for Total Talent. Total Talent is for riders aged 14-25 who compete in Class B to M2. Riding, rider fitness, mental training and coaching were discussed on the vlog during Total Talent.
Friday May 6th will be dominated by the Youth Finals followed by the EFO Totaal Talent Finals and Clinics by Rieky Young, among others. She’s caused a stir herself as a restrained contestant, but is now certainly as successful as her dressage coach, Dinga van Lier, among others, who trains with her. Tristan Tucker needs a little introduction. He will give his view on dressage in his own way and humorous during the Dutch Dressage Championships. Yvet Blokesch of the Feather Light Horsemanship will also perform at the Dutch National Championship. It shows all about her work in freedom: working freely, taming on the neck and working the floor. On Saturday, the first parts of the ZZ-Zwaar, Small Tour and Heavy Tour class begin.
The dressage race final will take place in the main arena as well. Here, too, the battle is still wide open. Defending champion Rext van der Horst is back, but this year with a different horse: ISMA’s Akuna Matata. Youth classes and the first dressage test will take place on May 5 and 6, and on Saturday May 7, the dressage final. Piste 2 will be the venue for the ultimate institution of horse riding for the disabled. There are plenty of activities to do during the May holidays at the National Equestrian Center in Ermelo, with a large thatched village.
