Broadcast four minutes of advertising per hour
With the arrival of HBO Max and ViaPlay and stiff competition from Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, it’s getting tough for Disney Plus to gain new subscribers. So the streaming service decided to offer a cheaper subscription form in the near future. For a lower monthly fee, you’ll see in-stream ads.
Of course, no one wants to be constantly interrupted by annoying commercials in the middle of a thriller. That’s why Disney Plus promises that you’ll see four minutes of commercials for every hour you broadcast. These advertisements must meet strict conditions, in order to take into account the often younger audience. For example, ads about alcohol and political topics are not shown. Disney Plus also does not want to display ads from its competitors.
Disney Plus isn’t the only streaming service that comes with a cheaper subscription plan. Netflix also says it’s working on a subscription with ads. This makes it more common to pay for multiple streaming services at the same time. For example, if you have Netflix, HBO Max, and Disney Plus, the monthly costs add up quickly.

It will only be released in 2023
We’ve been hearing for a while about Disney Plus’ cheaper subscription model, but when will this finally come out? According to the streaming service, the ad subscription will be available in the US before the end of 2022. The rest of the world will have to wait a little longer, because the international rollout won’t happen until 2023.
